Aesthetics Guidelines
1) Work hand in hand with Building and Grounds to locate and take care of any repairs or updates needed to the church or church house.
2) Make sure Safford room is decorated nicely according to seasons.
3) Change alter arrangement according to season.
Buildings & Grounds Guidelines
In addition to routine maintenance special projects, building and grounds will be responsible for the following throughout the year:
September:
1. Make certain church is extra clean for start of regular service
2. Inspect all smoke alarms and fire extinguishers. Replace batteries and recharge if necessary
October:
1. Shut off water valve to garden
November:
Plan and organize fall clean-up and make winter preparations
1. Clean and remove all leaves and debris from Sanctuary and church house.
2. Remove leaves from parking area behind sanctuary and between church house and sanctuary.
3. Cover air conditioner(S) to minimize cold air from entering the building.
4. Winterize windows and doors. Caulk and repair as needed.
5. Inspect and test furnaces. Call service company if needed
6. Buy and set up mouse traps. Keep out of sight and avoid areas where children are.
December:
Prepare for snow and holiday season.
1. Buy bags of salt and make sure we have shovels that in working
order.
2. Remove Christmas decorations from storage and work with aesthetics
committee on decorating
January:
1. Take down and store Christmas decorations.
March:
1. Remove winterizing material
2. Put shovels, salt, etc., into storage.
April:
Plan and organize Spring clean-up.
1. Clean up grounds, paint, etc.
2. Organize any summer projects.
May:
1. Put air conditioner back in window in Safford Room and make certain air conditioner in office is functioning.
2. Plan and schedule any summer repairs to be completed during June, July or August.
